Vivi Papi first photographed the little church of the Schirannetta between 1964 and 1965: he took accurate photographs of overall views and details of both interiors and exteriors, partly with 24x36 mm negative, but mostly with 10x12 cm color negative, obtaining images of excellent quality.
The photographer then photographed the church again on behalf of ISAL (Institute for the History of Art in Lombardy) in 1990, with black/white negative and color slide in 24x36 mm format. On that occasion he also took pictures for his own archives, so that he could keep them for documentation and comparison of the changing state of the frescoes and the exterior of the church.
